That handsome brown girl on the left is Polly.  She's six.  The friend to her left is Jim.  He's eighteen.  They're both from Tetrault Farms in Hatfield (couldn't find a website.)  They visited Pulaski Park today as part of Catholic School Week.  Mater Dolorosa elementary school abuts the park and the kids loved the sleigh rides.   The horses were just beautiful.  Regal and eager to work.  Jeff, the owner's assistant, said the hardest thing to teach them is to just stand still.

Hello

Im writting to you wondering if you can guide me in the right direction,
My program have been working improving the evironment for pedestrians in the city of Holyoke for the past 5 years. In addition to holding educational campaigns, we have sponsored environmental changes that include adding crosswalks and signals, fixing beacon lights and adding audible pedestrian crossing signals in key intersections arouns the city.
As part of the 2009 intervention we will be adding a visible crossing light with countdown at the intersection of Main and Cabot St,and we are also fixing the lights under the railroad bridge on Appleton St going towards the flats. This last is the one we requesting your help for. We have very little funding that may be just enough to fix the lighting, but we wanted to do more. we though maybe adding a mural to those walls will brighten the senery and help it seem less scary for the pedestrians that transit that area. Well as you can imagine Im dealing with the City and the railroad and trying to sort out who has permissions to do one thing or the other. So if you have any suggestions and/or want to joing our efforts please contact me at 413 794 6510
thanks in advance for your time
Magda
